Small Business Administration Loan Programs
If you own a small business and are struggling in this difficult
economy, there may be a small business administration (SBA) program that
can help you stay in business and succeed. The SBA has rolled out
several loan programs as part of the 2009 Recovery Act. These include
changes to guarantees on SBA loans, elimination of certain fees,
expansion of the microloan program, and the new America's Recovery
Capital (ARC) loan program that can provide up to $35,000 for stressed
businesses. For more information, please visit the
Small Business Administration or call (612) 370-2324.
Tax Increment Financing
The Economic Development Authority (EDA) is the authorizing body
for tax increment financing (TIF), which is a tool to attract
development, create employment opportunities, and assist in
redevelopment financing. The EDA has used TIF and other business
development subsidies in the past for larger developments that have
contributed substantially to the employment base of Apple Valley. Learn
more about how TIF works at the
Minnesota House of Representatives.
