Kelley Park 6855 Fortino Street (Fortino Street & 152nd Street) The newest Apple Valley Park, Kelley Park, is dedicated to the late Rick Kelly, long time Community Development Director for the City of Apple Valley. This 5.6 acre urban park contains the city's only splash pad water play area (think giant sprinklers) as well as a large, dry play structure, gazebo, topiaries and ornamental sculpture. There is ample room to settle on the large lawns, relax, picnic and watch the kids play in the splash pad. Street parking is available on all sides of the park. Kelley Park is named in honor of Rick Kelley. Rick served as the Community Development Director and City Planner for Apple Valley from 1978 to 2005. During this period of time, the City grew from a population of 18,000 to 50,000. Rick's influential, imaginative, and thoughtful planning skills helped guide the City during this period of significant growth. Rick was a very active and involved community member, serving with the Rotary Club from 1995 to 2005 (President 2001 - 2002) and the Chamber of Commerce from 1978 to 2005 (Board Chair in 1999). Rick was well known for his magnificent command of the English language, his formidable memory, and his humble attitude. He took great pride in serving the citizens and watching Apple Valley grow into a distinctive city.
