Whitney Pond  (KL-P2.1) Storm Water Improvements (2024-111)

The City of Apple Valley has completed a feasibility study to analyze stormwater improvement options surrounding pond KL-P2 (Whitney Pond) located within Keller Park. Stormwater improvements will help improve water quality and will be necessary to provide required, permit mandated stormwater management for upcoming street reconstruction projects in the surrounding neighborhood. The study will require survey work and markings determine existing conditions and utilities around the site. The City received a $40,000 grant through the Watershed Based Implementation Fund, a derivative of the Clean Water Land and Legacy Amendment. The city will keep the public informed prior to any future pond improvements occurring.

A open house was held on August 17th at 5:30PM to receive comments from the public on 2 proposed concepts.  Both a clean copy of the 2 concepts, and a copy of the concepts with public comments can be viewed below. The City also opened a public comment period accepting comments until September 8th.  An additional public meeting will be held September 27th at 6PM at the City Council chambers located at 7100 147th St W to review a modified concept based on public feedback.
