In order to preserve the character of residential neighborhoods home occupations are generally prohibited in residential districts, with exception to daycare, state licensed facilities, minor repair and professional services, and photo and art studios .
Home occupations may only take place when activity associated with the occupation occurs entirely within the principal structure, is not visible from the street, no prohibited signs are displayed, and is engaged in by no one other than residents of the dwelling. Some of the permitted home occupations include but are not limited to daycare, minor repair services (camera repair, computer repair, etc.), professional offices, photo, and art studios. Auto repair of any type whether for profit or not for profit is prohibited. Auto repair may only take place on vehicles owned by residents of a property. Accessory buildings and garages may not be used for home occupations.
