NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Apple Valley, Dakota County, Minnesota, will meet at the Municipal Center, 7100 147th Street W., Apple Valley,
Minnesota on Thursday, November 29, 2018, at 7:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as possible. A purpose of the meeting will be to hold a public hearing on considering the purchase and
implementation of a body-worn camera system and a proposed policy regarding body-worn cameras.
The attached policy was developed based on guidelines set forth in the Minnesota League of Minnesota Cities model policy. This policy provides guidelines on how the cameras should be configured, when the cameras should be turned on and off, as well as how the data captured on the cameras is classified. Finally, the policy dictates who can access body worn camera data and how long it will be maintained.
