Code enforcement begins with a complaint. Complaints can be made by residents, the general public, or any city department. Generalized complaints regarding particular violations or neighborhoods are encouraged. Complaints are always kept anonymous. Code enforcement staff then conducts an inspection to identify violations present at the property of concern. Once verified, code staff becomes the complaint source and any information provided by the initial complainant will be used solely for the purpose of providing updates upon request. Code Enforcement will work with responsible individuals diligently and courteously until the matter is resolved. Please be aware that this process may take several weeks or months depending on the conditions requiring attention.
