[ARCHIVED] Parks and Rec Programs Closed Due to Executive Order 20-99 Announcement

Corona Virus

Governor Walz has issued Executive Order 20-99.

See the source imageGovernor Walz has issued Executive Order 20-99 aimed at curbing the spike in community spread of COVID-19 in Minnesota.

Included in the order is a pause on all youth and adult sports programing, the temporary closure of recreation facilities, and several other measures for a period of four weeks.

As a result, beginning November 21, 2020, all Apple Valley Parks and Recreation in-person programs are canceled, and recreation facilities are closed until there is guidance from the state for safely reopening. This includes all activities that take place at the Community Center, Hayes Park Arena, Sports Arena, Senior Center, and other park buildings.  Registered program participants will be contacted over the next several days about rescheduling and refunds.

During this time, we ask that all Apple Valley residents continue to follow Minnesota’s Stay Safe Plan guidelines as we work together to combat the coronavirus pandemic, and monitor applevalleymn.gov for updates.

Meanwhile, please continue to access Apple Valley’s outdoor parks and trails for exercise and fresh air.  We’re all in this together and hope to see everyone in person again soon!
