[ARCHIVED] Prevent freeze damage!

Prevent freeze damage at your property and in your neighborhood this winter. Consider shutting your water shut off while you're away.

Prevent freeze damage at your property and in your neighborhood this winter. Consider shutting your water shut off while you're away. If you plan to leave your home on vacation for an extended period of time this winter, you might want to consider shutting the water off (at your meter) in case the heat goes out while you’re away. This simple act will minimize the amount of water damage to your home in the event of a burst pipe, by reducing the amount of water allowed to run through your home.

Additionally, if you are aware of any vacant properties in your neighborhood please report such properties to the Code Enforcement Department, so we can pro-actively monitor these properties for maintenance concerns.

A link to the water shut-off request form is provided here. This request is for the water to be shut off by the City at the curb stop. This process is usually only completed for vacant properties.
