Remember summer watering restrictions are currently in place. Irrigation systems and sprinklers left unattended may not be used between the hours of 11 AM and 6 PM; May 1st through September 30th.
In the interest of water preservation and to reduce the demand on the public utility system during peak hours the City of Apple Valley implements a seasonal watering ban during day-time hours over the summer months. While in effect watering of lawns and gardens by means of irrigation system or by sprinklers left unattended should not take place between the hours of 11:00 AM and 6:00 PM; May 1st through September 30th. Watering restrictions apply to residential, business, and commercial properties. Watering during these time periods reduces the amount water received by the lawns and gardens since most of the water is lost to evaporation. The best time to water lawns and garden’s is in the early morning and late evening when temperatures are lower. Children’s water toys (attended), hand watering, and watering of newly planted sod, or trees are excluded fromt the watering restrictions.
